Most people in the gym are guessing. You don’t have to be.
One 60-minute session with our physio and PT team. You’ll leave with six clear scores, a plain-English explanation of what’s holding you back, and a training plan built specifically for you, to fit around your life.
✔ No obligation · No hard sell · 60 minutes in our Leith clinic
Wherever you’re starting from, you deserve a proper plan.
Maybe you’ve never really known what you should be doing in the gym. Maybe you’ve been going for a while but you’re not sure if you’re doing it right. Or maybe something’s been niggling and you’re not sure whether to push through or pull back.
Whatever’s brought you here, you don’t need to figure it out by yourself.
- You train regularly but you’re not sure if it’s actually working
- You’re new to the gym and the internet has given you 47 conflicting answers
- You lift, but you have no objective idea whether your squat, hinge or pull is actually any good
- You have a plan but no real sense of whether it’s taking you anywhere
- You want clear benchmarks and honest feedback from people who know what they’re talking about
What you Get: Assess. Explain. Plan.
What you get for £15
In your 60-minute session
A one-to-one assessment with a qualified coach in Lab 1 or Lab 2. We score six movement patterns (squat, hinge, push, pull, single-leg, carry) on a 1–5 scale, talk through what’s going on in plain English, and flag anything that needs physio input.
The day after
A written report of your scores and a short personalised training programme, sent by video, built around your level and your schedule.
If something hurts
Free access to an online physio assessment, so you start in the right place.
The standalone price is £100. This month it’s £15 so we can fill the diary and meet more of the Leith community. No ongoing commitment, no hard sell.
Real People. Clear Progress.
Here’s what happens when you start with clarity — and structure.
Stephen came in with a shoulder injury just as he was starting a new training programme. The Movement MOT gave him a clear baseline and Bradley built a plan that worked around the injury without stalling his progress.
Meryl had never been confident in the gym and didn’t know where to start. The Movement MOT gave her a starting point, a plan built around her goals, and the confidence that she’s moving the right way.
What we assess, and why it matters
These six patterns are the basis of how your body moves in the gym, at work, and in life. Get them right and almost every training goal becomes reachable. Miss them, and niggles, plateaus, and injury risk compound.
Measured on Levels 1–5
Each movement pattern is graded from Level 1 (your starting point, wherever that is) to Level 5 – what we call our “strong enough for life” standard. That’s the level that supports an active lifestyle, protects your joints, and keeps injury risk low, without needing training to become your part-time job!
You can always go further. But beyond Level 5, the extra returns rarely justify the extra time investment for most people.
Your results give us a clear baseline and a clear path forward, meaning no more guesswork.
Meet the team behind your MOT
Your Movement MOT session will be led by our specialist physio and PT team, people who work together every day to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance. So instead of just a generic screening and recommendations, you’re getting experienced eyes, honest answers, and a bespoke plan built just for you.
This Is for You If…
- You’re new to the gym and want to start with a plan, not guesswork
- You’re returning after injury, surgery, pregnancy or a long break and want to rebuild safely – and get your confidence back
- You’re over 60 and want training that respects your joints without babying you
- You’re perimenopausal or menopausal and want strength work that fits the phase you’re in
- You’re an experienced lifter who wants an objective benchmark, not flattery
- You’re time-poor and need a plan that fits real life, rather than a programme that takes over it
- You want clear benchmarks, honest feedback, and a real route to improve
If pain shows up?
If something’s hurting during your assessment, we won’t just push through. We’ll guide you to the right pathway – whether that means adjusting your plan on the spot, or referring you for physiotherapy first.
In the case of recent or acute injuries, we’d recommend starting with a free Online Physio Assessment before your MOT. We’ll make sure you’re in the right place before you do anything else.
When the foundations are solid, true meaningful progress can be made.
