What you get for £100

In your 60-minute session

A one-to-one assessment with a qualified coach in Lab 1 or Lab 2. We score six movement patterns (squat, hinge, push, pull, single-leg, carry) on a 1–5 scale, talk through what’s going on in plain English, and flag anything that needs physio input.

The day after 

A written report of your scores and a short personalised training programme, sent by video, built around your level and your schedule.

If something’s flaring up, we’ll redirect you to a free online physio assessment instead — at no cost, no penalty, no pressure to rebook.

Charlotte came in with persistent back pain and a sense that traditional physiotherapy was only giving her short-term relief. The Injury MOT showed her what she could safely do, identified the strength gaps she hadn’t spotted, and gave her a clear plan to work from. Two weeks in, her daily pain has dropped from 5 to 2 and she’s holding a one-minute plank after starting at ten seconds.

Ewan came in dealing with tendonitis, having avoided squatting and movements that pushed his knees over his toes. The MOT showed those patterns were safe to load, picked up no major issues with his form, and gave him the confidence to rebuild. He’s now squatting 50kg with no knee pain and adding weight each session.

If pain shows up?

If something’s hurting during your assessment, we won’t just push through. We’ll guide you to the right pathway – whether that means adjusting your plan on the spot, or referring you for physiotherapy first.

In the case of recent or acute injuries, we’d recommend starting with a free Online Physio Assessment before your MOT. We’ll make sure you’re in the right place before you do anything else.

When the foundations are solid, true meaningful progress can be made. 

What we assess, and why it matters

Almost every niggle, flare-up and plateau shows up in one of six patterns. Grading each one is how we find the actual limiter — not a guess, not a generic ‘strengthen your core’.

Squat

How you sit, stand and generate strength through your hips and knees.

Hip Hinge

Where most low-back issues get diagnosed or missed

Push

Upper-body strength for daily tasks and sport.

Pull

Where most shoulder and neck issues resolve or don’t.

Single-Leg

Balance, joint control, and injury resilience.

Carry

Real-world core strength and whole-body capacity under load.

Measured on Levels 1–5

Each movement pattern is graded from Level 1 (your starting point, wherever that is) to Level 5 – what we call our “strong enough for life” standard. That’s the level that supports an active lifestyle, protects your joints, and keeps injury risk low, without needing training to become your part-time job!

You can always go further. But beyond Level 5, the extra returns rarely justify the extra time investment for most people.

Your results give us a clear baseline and a clear path forward, meaning no more guesswork.

There’s no pass or fail. Most people who come in with a niggle, an old injury, or a history of back/knee/shoulder pain land between 1 and 3, and that’s useful information, not bad news.
