Laura Rodrigo

Sports Massage Therapist & Personal Trainer in Edinburgh

I’m a Sports Rehab Therapist with a lifelong passion for sport, movement and helping people become stronger and more confident in their bodies.

I believe movement is one of the most valuable things we have. In a world where sedentary lifestyles and physical inactivity are increasingly common, movement shouldn’t be seen as a punishment or something we have to earn. It is a privilege.

Being able to run, lift, sweat, challenge yourself and feel your body adapting is a gift.

Movement is medicine. Movement is freedom.

Qualifications & Expertise

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Sport Rehabilitation from Queen Margaret University and am a BASRaT-registered Graduate Sports Rehabilitator. I also hold a SCRUMCAPS First Aid qualification and provide pitch-side first aid at rugby matches.

My areas of interest include musculoskeletal rehabilitation, exercise rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, movement assessment, and helping people return to sport and physical activity following injury.

My Approach

My approach is evidence-based, practical and centred around active rehabilitation.

I don’t believe rehabilitation should simply be about getting out of pain. True rehabilitation means rebuilding strength, improving confidence and developing the physical capacity needed to return to the activities that matter to you.

Injury can be frustrating, whether you’re an athlete unable to train, a runner missing the sport you love, or someone struggling with everyday activities. My role is to help
you understand what’s happening, guide your rehabilitation and support you in regaining trust in your body.

I’m also passionate about showing that strength training isn’t just for athletes or aesthetics. Strength is capacity. It helps us move well, tolerate physical demands, recover from setbacks and maintain our independence as we age.

My Story

Sport has been part of my life since childhood. I played competitive volleyball in Madrid for around ten years as a libero, before becoming a runner and eventually discovering CrossFit, which is still a big part of my life today.

Experiencing sport from different perspectives, competition, performance, fitness and simply enjoying what your body can do ultimately led me to Sport Rehabilitation. I became fascinated by how the body responds to injury, adapts to training and can improve through the right rehabilitation approach.

I Can Help You

  • Recover from musculoskeletal injuries
  • Manage persistent pain and build physical capacity
  • Improve strength, mobility and movement
  • Rebuild confidence after injury
  • Return progressively to sport, training and exercise
  • Develop a personalised rehabilitation programme around your goals and lifestyle

My goal is not simply to get you back to where you were, but to help you move forward.

Outside of Work

Training is a big part of my life, and CrossFit is still one of my favourite ways to challenge myself physically. I also enjoy travelling, spending time with my people, discovering new restaurants and finding a good coffee. I’m naturally curious and enjoy reading about psychology, the human body and personal development.

Whenever I can, I head back to Spain to spend time with family and friends, enjoy the food, sunshine and slower pace of life.

Structured. Encouraging. Results-driven.

Challenging and progressive
